FAQs

What is all about?
Single Volunteers gets single people working together during an evening for a great cause.

Sounds good but what's in it for me?
You'll meet fantastic people and earn yourself some great karma in the process.  You can add ‘community contribution' to your CV and feel great about yourself for getting out of the house and involved in great projects.

What kind of people will I meet?
Participants come from all walks of life - from nurses and naturopaths to bankers and builders. We offer events for heterosexuals, metrosexuals and homosexuals.

So, how does it work?
You'll spend around three hours on a weeknight contributing to one of the projects we support.  You can choose from the likes of cooking for the hungry and homeless, helping with bushfire relief or rolling up your sleeves at a gardening project.

It sounds less intimidating than speed dating... is it?
Totally! Because you're busy working while you're meeting people, there's no awkwardness. Plus, you already know you share two common traits with everyone there - you want to meet new people and you have a great social conscience!

How will I know if anyone takes a fancy to me?
At the end of each event you'll tick the names of any people you're interested in seeing again.  If they tick you too, we share your contact details. If you don't happen to meet anyone who floats your boat, you'll still leave knowing you've made a difference.

Where and when are Single Volunteers events held?
Our events are held in venues around inner city Melbourne and usually start at 6:30pm.
